Have you had a heart attack or stroke?
We are testing the effect of an investigational drug and its ability to reduce cardiovascular events, such as heart attacks or strokes, in people who are overweight or obese. This medication, known as semaglutide, has already been shown to reduce similar events in people with Type 2 Diabetes. To be eligible for this new study, called ‘SELECT’, you will need to meet the following criteria:
- have had a stroke or heart attack, or have poor circulation
- are aged 45 or older
- are living with overweight or obesity
- do NOT have diabetes
- are able to attend regular clinic visits and receive phone calls over a period of 3-5 years
