About Us

Need help managing your diabetes? Come see us.

At Hunter Diabetes Centre, we care for each patient as an individual. We assess your specific needs and provide you with personalised treatment to help you reach your health goals.

Our core goals at Hunter Diabetes Centre are Prevention, Detection & Management of diabetes and diabetes related illnesses.

Hunter Diabetes Centre
Prevention
We focus on preventative health, while helping to identify at-risk patients. Preventing the onset of diabetes where we can is our top priority. We run support and education workshops about managing diabetes, as well as effective ways to modify your lifestyle to lessen or prevent diabetes.

Detection
As the rate of diabetes continues to rise in the Hunter, early detection is crucial. 60% of the cases of Type 2 diabetes could be avoided. The sooner you begin to adapt your lifestyle, the lesser the effects of the disease. Endocrinologist Dr Claire Morbey works with a dedicated team of Dieticians and Diabetes Educators who are focused on identifying the onset of diabetes, and taking immediate action.

Management
We are dedicated to helping you control your diabetes so you can lead a happy and healthy life. We can give you the tools and information you need to better self-manage the effects of both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes. Along with the guidance from our Endocrinologist, our Dieticians can help you tailor your diet to suit your nutritional needs. Our Diabetes Educator can also assist with your insulin, injections and pumps, and discuss ways you can continue to lead your lifestyle with limited hassle.
